Mobilize Prayer Among Congregations; Across the City

Waymakers is passionate about preparing tools to help equip the local church leader. Our website has many proven ideas to help you stimulate people to pray with life-giving joy and biblical hope using Seek God for the City 2009. Please check out the links below.

1. How to mobilize people to pray for their community (without piling on the guilt). Mention other churches in your area that you know will be using Seek God for the City. This helps people realize that prayer involves the whole community and not just a few people.

2. Remind people without pestering them. Use bulletin inserts and other promotional ideas.

3. Unite your prayers with the prayers of Spanish-speaking people of your congregation or Spanish-speaking churches in your community. A complimentary Spanish translation of Seek God for the City 2009 available at the WayMakers website.

4. Encourage families to pray together using the Children's Companion Guide.

5. Explore some message ideas for Palm Sunday. Consider a Palm Sunday theme throughout the season.

6. A ministry to the visually impaired has Seek God for the City 2009 on cassette. Contact BJ LeJeune of Care Ministries at (800) 336-2232.

It's not too late to get copies. Seek God for the City begins this year on February 25, 2009. It is best to distribute the books on February 15 and February 22, the two Sundays before the 25th. If you forgot to order or did not order enough, please call us quickly. We have a limited number of copies still available. Call us today—it’s not too late to place an order.

Yours in hope,
