Renovare' - A Balanced Format for Prayer Groups

God is doing fresh things among us, and RENOVARÉ is committed to following these movements of the Holy Spirit.

First, God is breaking down the old walls that separate and isolate us. We are being enabled to listen and learn and draw strength from each other in ways that have not been possible for a very long time. RENOVARÉ seeks to follow this powerful movement of the Spirit of God by bringing together the best spiritual treasures of several great Christian streams of faith and witness. This balanced vision of gospel truths gives vigor and wholeness to our lives. We believe it is the work of God.

Second, God today is calling his children to grow up. Perpetual spiritual infancy does not please God nor does it honor Christ. R
ENOVARÉ has come into being in response to this new (yet old) call of God for maturity. We seek to set forth a practical strategy for spiritual growth that is for all who follow Christ. The heart of this strategy is the Spiritual Formation Group which centers around a Covenant, Common Disciplines, and Questions of Examen. This provides, in short, a personal program of training for spiritual renewal which overcomes the twin plagues of our day: unbridled freedom and isolated effort. It is a strategy we believe God is using to bring people everywhere "to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ" (Eph. 4:15).

Will you join us? We have no one to promote but Jesus Christ, no agenda but faithfulness to him, and no cause but the doing of his will upon the face of the earth. I invite you to be a part of this nurturing fellowship by signing and committing yourself to the Renovaré Covenant, and together let us experience Jesus Christ as our everliving Savior, Teacher, Lord, and Friend.

Welcome!
God is inviting us to go on a journey into his heart and into the good life made available through Jesus: "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). But entering into this abundant life takes more than wishful thinking; it takes a well-thought-out, feasible plan.

A Balanced Spiritual Life

The first part of this plan is a balanced vision, which we find when incorporating into our lives practices seen in Jesus' life and the history of the Church. These practices, or spiritual disciplines, mature us in traditions of life and faith:

Contemplative: the prayer-filled lifeSocial Justice: the compassionate life
Holiness: the virtuous lifeEvangelical: the word-centered life
Charismatic: the spirit-empowered lifeIncarnational: the sacramental life

The Journey

The second part of this plan is to implement a practical strategy that will help us stay on course: participating in a Spiritual Formation Group. These fellowships of two to seven people meet regularly to encourage and hold one another accountable to the practice of spiritual disciplines and balanced growth into Christlikeness.

RENOVARÉ can help you on your journey by providing a balanced vision and a practical strategy for the formation of Christ-like character, with the ultimate goal of learning more and more to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and your neighbor as yourself. If this direction for living your life sounds appealing please feel free to use the RENOVARÉ web page as a resource for ideas, inspiration, and future directions.
