CPLN Wants to Know ~ What's Working in Your Church?

Help Us Encourage Other Prayer Leaders

What's Working in Your Church?

Exciting News

New Section on Website
Check out Empowered, a new section on that is designed to equip and encourage you in your role as prayer leader. This section includes past issues of "Empowered"--both those that appeared in Pray! and five issues of the past prayer leaders journal. Each includes practical and inspirational help to make prayer more foundational in your church.

Let Us Fire Up Your People

Hold a prayer conference in your church and use a CPLN speaker. It is not too early to plan for Fall 2006 or all of 2007. President Jon Graf, Phil Miglioratti, CPLN reps Dennis and Betty Jo Conner, Ginny Kisling, John and Kerry Shuey, and Jim Graddy are all available to put on a weekend conference at your church.

Bring a CPLN Regional to Your Area

We are continually looking for host churches for our CPLN regional conferences. Would your church like to be a catalyst for prayer in your area?

In an effort to better serve prayer leaders, the CPLN is searching for churches that do some aspect of prayer well--or that perhaps have added a prayer ministry which has had an effect on the life of the church. We want to hear your story. What made you decide to launch that ministry? What seems to be working well? What has God done in and through your church as a result?

We are looking for these stories for two reasons:

1. The CPLN is responsible for putting together the "Empowered" section of Pray! magazine each issue. We are looking for fresh ideas that would encourage other prayer leaders. Each issue highlights a church's story, then provides practical helps for prayer leaders to be able to initiate in their church. We are interested in materials on any topic related to church prayer, but currently we are working on collecting material (a church success story, and how to information) on the following topics:

Developing a Prayer Strategy for Your Church
Successful Prayer in Church Small Groups (that moves beyond just praying for individual needs of group members)
Holding a Successful Prayer Initiative
Corporate Prayer within the Sunday AM Worship Service
Maintaining a Vibrant Prayer Evangelism Ministry

2. Filling a new section of our website. We are in the process of redesigning our website. The new site will have sections such as children, leadership, missions, intercessors, small groups, corporate prayer, etc. Each of those sections will be filled with ideas, resources, and church stories related to that area. The idea is to provide you, our members, with practical help in any area of prayer you need it. We now need to begin gathering material to post.

We want to hear from you. Send us your story. Send us your idea of what has worked in your church. No idea is too small or insignificant!

Also, we are interested in knowing what your needs are. What topic on prayer would help you in your work as a prayer leader.

Please email me at: jong@harvest

We want to continue to encourage each other by sharing what member churches are doing to encourage prayer. You may have a story to tell that is just what a struggling prayer leader across the country needs.

Prayer Leaders and Intercessors

Do you have times where you wonder if your prayer leadership is making a difference? Or do you wonder if you left your post--that anyone would even notice? If so, we would like to invite you to be part of our next Teleseminar where our CPLN Western Regional Director, Ginny Kisling, will be speaking on Persisting Even When It Looks Like Nothing Is Happening. She draws upon 8+ years of prayer leadership in the trenches to bring a message of encouragement that you wont want to miss!

Our church has adopted the "prayuer usher" alter ministry that Terry Tekyl describes in the book PRAYING GRACE. This has empowered many members of our congregation to be able to pray more confidently and more effectively for others. We have prayer ushers each week posted to pray for people.
